We were a couple of days in Centerparcs. We stayed in a cottage which we’ve rented. The cottage we stayed in included pretty much everything you need to make your stay as comfortable as you wish. In this post i’ll share with you what you definitely need for your baby to take with you on your family getaway to a holiday parc such like this.
By that I mean actually your favourite, easy to make dishes. They usually do have a supermarket on the parc, but their prices are ridiculously expensive and what you use for your child/baby is not always been sold or available at the place. So, much better to bring your own things such like ‘formula’ or cereal and if you cook your own (organic) dishes for your baby, then bring your own vegetables. They don’t always sell ‘organic’. At least, if that’s what you prefer. Try to keep it simple to prevent that you’re packing your whole kitchen 😆
You should bring baby’s own bedsheets or a sleepingbag. This cottage didn’t have a matras cover or sheet for the baby bed. I didn’t bring any with me, so I had to use the big swaddle! Solved! Great! Just a tip for you moms…what you’ll also need:
-bottle warmer, lots of clothes and bibs when your baby suffers from reflux, 1 pack of diapers, stroller, extra sleeping bag, a spare pacifier, 1 pack of wipes, vitamin D, thermometer, paracetamol, soap and things to clean your boo up! Another one: TOWELS, in case you want to participate in a baby swim class! Or want to swim yourself or your kids…They didn’t had any towels when we asked for it! Crazy right? A pool without towels…I had to dry my little man with a ‘stinky’ one which was handed by the teenager lifeguard. Anyhow, I regret that I forgot our own fresh fluffy towels…big time! That won’t happen again. Jegh!
How many bags do I need?
Forget about to think in ‘how many’! Just write down what u need for your baby and other kid(s) and pack them. If that means you’ll end up with 10 bags then so be it. Just try to keep in mind to travel ‘light’ and the rest will be all fine. It usually is a big struggle to pack everything (all moms and dads agree about this) but you’ll be glad you did once you arrive! Nothing nicer then having your own favourite things around, right? O, and don’t forget to bring extra plastic bags to put the dirty laundry in. And did i mention the thermo bottle to put in boiled water to make a bottle for the road? Not? You’ll be glad you did. Trust me! Somehow your luggage doubles in volume on your way back home…
To make all of these above clear; everything I wrote in this post is based on our own experiences and interest. Please don’t see it as something you HAVE to or that you might even think that ‘this is it’. Choose whatever you like, but I just wanted to share what ‘essentials’ were really missing in the cottage and that you won’t make the same mistakes as I did. Forgetting towels….pfff…blame it on my new best friend: FATIGUE ! Anyone met my friend yet? 😉
What is your experience with traveling with babies/kids? Do you have tips? Feel free to share! Looking forward to it!
